The B Minor Mass was once acclaimed as ‘the greatest work of music of all ages and of all peoples’. Its genesis stretched over more than two decades from 1724 but it was not performed in its entirety until 1859, more than a century after Bach’s death. The OBC gave its first performance of the work in 1903 and this concert will be the choir’s 29th performance of this magnificent work.
